There’s something about an overcast summer day that make me want to bust out some brights!
Maybe Im reassuring myself and the rest of the world that it’s a minor blip in the season:
“No! Please don’t leave the party because we ran out of ice…Lisa just ran to the bodega to grab some. Stay. STAY!”
Whatever my reasons (we’ll unpack the above scenario at a later date), on these days I gravitate towards orange.

Honestly, there will be days when getting out of bed feels like a commercial for allergy sufferers. Dark, dreary and hard to breathe. Deadlines are missed. Emails go unanswered. Efforts are unrewarded and voices aren’t heard. You feel like the world has better things to do than appease you.
In the words of Issa Rae…”Ok, and?”
Get up.
Put on a bra that means business.
Find the brightest thing in your closet and pull it on.
Its something small but can move something inside you, making you feel a little less shitty about the day. After all, isn’t that the dream? Now, sit your ass down, resend / retext and admit to yourself that sometimes your ass delays responses too.
Get over it.
And floss once in a while.
