WHAT TO WEAR TO YOUR SUPER SPREADER

by kim naci

Not going into stores? Online orders taking their damn time? Let’s face it; this is an LBD kinda year.

You have a Little Black Dress. It’s probably hibernating under your Lululemons. Dust it off and meet me below.

Dress - Safiyaa / Flower - Pacific Trimming

The simpler the dress, the easier the canvas. Start with an easy silhouette then …. WHAMMO! … Hit ‘em with the flower. A bold flower brightens anyones face (and day!) This one doubles as a brooch and a clip. Pin it on your waist, your cleavage or close to your shoulder. Use it in your hair to class up that messy bun (which is less Bridget Bardot and more gym look than you had probably intended).

Dress - Safiyaa / Earrings - Dori Csengeri

Was the flower bringing on allergies? Inviting unwanted guests to “stop + sniff?” No problem. Our next party enjoys a little swing time! Earrings by Dori Csengeri are such show-stoppers that wearing clothing will just look redundant. These shoulder-dusters do their best when paired with a strapless dress. No stress if strapless isn’t an option - just choose a smooth fabric. Caution: anything with shoulder embellishments presents the potential of ear damage (ouch!) and - like a cough in a crowded elevator - brings the party to a screeching halt.

Dress - still Safiyaa / Worlds Fluffiest Coat - Dolce & Gabbana

You didn’t head my warning and wore that sequin jacket you snatched on Poshmark, didn’t you? I’m sure your mirror agreed: you looked smokin’ hot. But now you’re icing your little ‘lobes and have sworn off earrings until New Years. That’s why your next look is about being comforted; wrap yourself in Hygge as seen through the eyes of Stefano + Domenico. This dreamy coat is a party all on its own.

Wear a dress. Don’t wear a dress. Who cares? As long as you stick to seltzer. This coat does not mix well with alcohol and besides, its your 3rd party, Betty!

Jumpsuit - Black Halo / Bustier - Alaïa / Pant - Max Mara / Heel - Prada

The jumpsuit plays a flawless understudy to the dress. Stick to the accessory script and we’ll be fine. If a jumpsuit is not handy, make your own. Pair an evening pant with a bustier - if you have one handy - or a tank top works. Whatever you end up donning for your gay apparel this season ….PLEASE, WEAR A MASK

Remember, I love your guts!
