TSA doesn’t care of you’re naught or nice. Only if you got PreCheck. Which you probably didn’t because rather than getting fingerprinted and gathering your shit, you binged-watched The Handmaid’s Tale.

How to End it with Summer - But Keep Her As a Follower

Oh, come on.

It’s not like she doesn’t break plans ALL-THE-TIME. How many times did she bail on those beach weekend? She waits, like, forever to text you back. And then...after she basically disappears for more than a month, she acts like it was no big deal and comes on full force (think: highs expected to reach 102 degrees).

So, we start small. Maybe we put down the sandals and pick up a nude bootie to wear with our sundresses and silks.

Or a sweater over a short skirt. The A/C on the subways feels cooler than last week, right?

No one’s ready to turn the A/C off completely at work, so let’s invest in that jacket you’ve been eyeing in your feed and throw it over your romper.

See? Light and breezy. No feelings gets hurt.

Just don't forget about COLOR.....

...people tend to follow rainbows.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

In yellow.

The Samsøe & Samsøe dress is a gimme. But those flats? They'd go with E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

Im not alone in feeling this strong gravitational pull towards a color. This one in particular.

Let's see where Yellow has left her paw prints:

What makes yellow so disarming? Its our go-to color when they want to keep the gender a secret. Its the tangible good mood we pull on despite what our emotions are campaigning for...sometimes successfully.  

But its difficult to be angry when youre wearing yellow, isnt it? Like trying to maintain an imposing stance and intimidate whilst sipping through a straw.

FAIRYTALES AT FERRAGAMO

Once upon a time, there was a young girl who imagined herself surrounded by soft Italian leathers and dreamy 12-ply cashmere.

Her Fairy godmother Marie Claire granted her wish with an invite to host at Salvatore Ferragamo. She booked her ticket, crammed a 30-day cleanse into one afternoon and fled (whilst insisting her carry-on did indeed fall within the strict TSA size regulations)....

The Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan is beyond stunning. Imagine what living inside of a Tom Ford bag would feel like. Exclusively luxury shops with nary a Lady Foot Locker nor Aunt Annie's Pretzels seen. Keep that shit outdoors.

We crammed the night before in our hotel bar (how many ppl confirmed? do we have enough magazines? will they listen to my speech?... is this joke even funny???) and learned that our celebrity guest Rhonda Walker, has stolen the hearts of many. Especially Dean, the chatty bartender who sheepishly admitted his crush. Sales would benefit The Rhonda Walker Foundation which mentors girls from 8th grade (when we're nothing but nerves, anxiety, weird elbows and hair growth) through HS graduation. In awe!

Fulvio Rigoni went out with a bang! In his final collection for Ferragamo, he boldly embraced orange and royal purples in a variety of hues while maintaining the silent pillars of strength brought to us by greys and black.

Get framed.

An earring is the beautiful frame for that gorgeous masterpiece of a face you have there. (This analogy can get wobbly, so stay with me). Sometimes your everyday studs, stones, hoops can become such a habit you no longer see them on your face. Until a friend stops by and calls you on it; it quickly becomes the style equivalent of hanging pictures on your wall with double-sided tape "temporarily, until I get to West Elm."

Bi-polar weather patterns in Gotham City means we don't get excited when we hear "SPRING FASHION." We proudly remain jaded New Yorkers.

Michael Kors - a name synonymous with camel tones and nautical stripes - takes on color.

A whole lot of it...

I was thrilled when Marie Claire magazine and Michael Kors asked me to host MICHAEL KORS WEEK at Macy's (our staff is working diligently on having it recognized as a national holiday. Start planning your vacays!)

And just like that, the skies cleared. I shopped the collection #kidinacandystore, picked out my favorite mandarin dress, picked out my goes-with-everything shoe and picked up the microphone.

Truth. I have this dress in 3 colors. Its engineered perfectly and lends itself to heels and flats. How many dresses (with studs!) can make that bold a claim? Which brings me to footwear...

# WARDROBEUP was the buzz word at the event. Start with your shoes, and the rest will follow. Once you've got the right kicks you can think more clearly and not make impulse moves. Like buy movie tix to The Fate of the Furious just for the promise of a comfy seat.

To his loyal KOResponders, Michael didn't forget where he came from. The Spring 2017 collection has an abundant amount of nautical stripes with a trenchcoat that begs for a heist.

Just is about stripes. No clever pun about Bill Murray. Or prison. Or French Sailors (although that does sound remarkably like the plot of The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou)

This month La Ligne debuted. A collection inspired by The Stripe. If you know me, you know I cannot walk by a stripe without stopping. Why? Was I a mariner in another life? (just broke rule #1). There is something so fresh, neutral yet chic about a stripe. Its the "goes with everything" - not unlike a snakeskin.  So, in keeping with the minimalist nature this post is simple and to the point. 

The team behind La Ligne gets it. Former Vogue editors Meredith Melling and Valerie Boster snatched up former head of development Rag + Bone's Molly Howard and they got done to business. And we get to reap the benefits. Yippee!

You may recognize some of these beautiful faces. Also La Ligne just inked a deal with Net-A-Porter and are working on major collabs with Leandra Medine from Man Repellar. 

Stay tuned (I resisted saying 'stand in line' and feel that warrants applause).  Stripes are so close to my heart, you knows theres gonna be a part 2 to this post. Minimal-schminimal....

Hail the trifecta of chicness. One cannot think of rainwear without imagining themselves as a Parisian in a trenchcoat, can one? Here's how I pictured myself handling the storm last night.

Which brings up a great topic. We are in bi-polar weather, friends - we need to keep our heads straight and our bodies dry. Ive rounded up some cute transitional jackets for this weather. Each versatile enough to layer-on / layer-off.
